LAAX is awarded “Best Place to Ski” by SnowTrex. SnowTrex is Germany’s leading tour operator for winter travel and has also been active internationally for many years. Around 6,000 guests have rated LAAX after their trip and voted it “Best Place to Ski”.
LAAX wins twice at the World Ski Awards: For the fifth time in a row, the Alpine destination is named “World’s Best Freestyle Resort”. In the category “Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort”, LAAX wins for the sixth time. The World Ski Awards annually select the best ski resorts in the world in various categories by public and jury vote.
LAAX also wins two categories at the study “Best Ski Resort”: The LAAX Snowpark was chosen as the best snowpark and the LAAX School was voted the second best ski school in the Alps. With its in-house concept and the “Ami Sabi” kids programme, it is one of the few ski schools that does not belong to the Association of Swiss Ski Schools. With almost 40,000 skiers and snowboarders surveyed directly in the ski area, the “Best Ski Resort” study is one of the most informative studies in the Alps in the field of customer research.
The INSIDE LAAX app receives the “Swiss Mountain Award”. With this award, Seilbahnen Schweiz honors outstanding achievements in the ropeway industry every two years. Three projects are nominated and the winner is chosen by a jury.
The Weisse Arena Gruppe wins the national environmental award “Prix-Metallrecycling” for its top infrastructure with around 100 recycling stations on the mountain and in the valley. The prize is awarded annually by the two recycling organisations IGORA Cooperative and Ferro Recycling.
LAAX is voted “World’s Best Freestyle Resort” at the World Ski Awards for the fourth year running. The World Ski Awards annually select the best ski resorts in the world in various categories by public and jury decision.
The htr hotel revue together with hotelleriesuisse awarded Reto Gurtner the Milestone – Switzerland’s highest award in the tourism industry, for his life’s work. The Milestone jury presented him with this award in recognition of his decades of involvement in the LAAX resort, as well as the constant drive for innovation. He introduced the concept of resort thinking in Switzerland, successfully implemented a wide range of innovations and planned many additional projects.
Every year, the World Ski Awards select the world’s best ski resorts in a decision reached by both a jury and a public vote. The resort is once again one of this year’s winners, with two accolades: World’s Best Freestyle Resort and, for the rocksresort, World’s Best Green Ski Hotel. The resort also achieved top-three placings in the Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort, World’s Best New Ski Hotel (for the Riders Hotel) and World’s Best Ski Company (for Weisse Arena Gruppe) categories.
LAAX also achieved two category wins at the Best Ski Resort Awards 2018 ceremony in Innsbruck. The LAAX School was voted best ski school in the Alps. It is one of the few ski schools not to belong to the Association of Swiss Ski Schools, instead working with a concept developed in-house featuring the successful Ami Sabi figure.
LAAX is now set to defend the title of Best Snow Park for the fifth time in a row, while in the Rent & Sevices category, second place went to LAAX Rental. The Best Ski Resort awards are made in a selection of different categories every two years in. The winners are chosen following a survey of around 46,000 direct customers across 55 Alpine ski resorts.
Once again, LAAX won the World Ski Awards and prevailed against well-known international competitors. For the second time in a row LAAX wins the international award as “World’s Best Freestyle Resort” and the national award as “Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort” goes to LAAX for the fifth time. In the new category “World’s Best Green Ski Hotel”, the rocksresort was able to take first place due to its responsible use of resources and the environment.
