The legendary ski and snowboard race for employees of the Weisse Arena Gruppe took place on Monday, April 7, 2025. Around 317 WAG employees took the opportunity to take part in the racing spectacle at Crap Sogn Gion – some as racers, others as spectators. Afterwards, a delicious dinner awaited all those present in the Galaaxy. The traditional event counts as WAG’s internal end-of-season party and was once again a complete success.

Around 128 employees were ready with their skis and snowboards at the start gates on Crap Sogn Gion. Snow sports instructors and teachers from the LAAX School, employees from the mountain railroads, catering and marketing departments and many other areas took part in the race. They competed against each other in teams of four in the parallel slalom and gave it their all. Those who didn’t take part were able to join in the excitement and enjoy the evening sun on the terrace of the Satellite Bar.
Popular race format with lots of excitement
The ski and snowboard race format is legendary and extremely popular within the WAG: four parallel slaloms are set up next to each other on the piste from Crap Sogn Gion towards Alp Dado. The LAAX School team around Hampi Casutt and many volunteers are responsible for the smooth running of the races. At the start number distribution, all participants are divided into groups of four. It doesn’t matter what kind of snow sports equipment they are competing on: skis or snowboard. Different levels are represented in each group, which ensures fairness, action and excitement.
This year, a total of 31 teams took part. The starting signal was given at 5 p.m. and the first four people set off at high speed. As soon as the first team member reached the finish line, the second team member started and so on. The best teams progressed lap by lap until, at the end, only the last four teams were still fighting for the podium places.

Dinner and prize giving
After the race, all employees enjoyed a delicious dinner in the Galaaxy. During this time, they talked about the race, toasted the past winter season together and watched the sun disappear behind the mountain peaks. After dessert, the four best teams were honored at the prize giving and presented with great prizes. The evening slowly drew to a close and we took the gondola back down to the valley.
Many thanks to everyone who organized this event and ensured a very successful end to the season, which all those present will certainly remember with pleasure. In particular the LAAX School team, the Galaaxy team, the organizers from the People & Culture department and the lift staff.
