Construction of the rocksresort

The valley station in Laax Murschetg gets a new look

2007 sees the start of one of the Weissen Arena Gruppe’s largest construction projects to date; the construction of the rocksresort at the valley station in Laax Murschetg. By 2009, 8 cubes will be built, the houses A to H. They will contain modern 4-, 6- and 8-bed apartments. In addition to the modern flats, they also contain various shops and restaurants. As a member of Design Hotels™, the rocksresort impresses with timeless architecture, unique living culture, regional materials and a special lighting concept.

The cubic buildings made of solid Vals quartzite are not only architectural avant-garde. During their construction, the focus is on responsible and sustainable use of resources and the environment. All buildings are constructed according to the Minergie standard and are heated entirely with renewable energy.

Reto Gurtner, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Weissen Arena Gruppe on the sustainability concept at the rocksresort: “You can simplify sustainability with good design. The early days of the ecological movement in the 1970s were eye-opening to me. When you have to make decisions that have an impact on the whole region, sustainable ideas like this can’t be emphasised enough.”

Attractive and future-oriented investment

Refinancing is helped by the “buy to use and let” concept: Owners who do not use their holiday flat themselves for their holidays can have it rented out by the Weissen Arena Gruppe, without any effort on their part. A pooling model collects the rental income from all flats and distributes it to the owners on a pro-rata basis. The advantage for the owners: even if the flat is not rented out, they are guaranteed to receive rental income.
